Treadmill recovery run

I put Cole down for his nap and went for a quick jog on the treadmill (our street still has ice and no open shoulder, so running outside isn't happening). I was waiting for a call back from someone who is providing assistance with the running race Betsy and I were putting on, so I had my cell at the ready. In the end, he called at the perfect time... right after I finished and stretched out! Anyway, started with a 0.5 mile warmup at 7.0 mph (8:34 min/mile) then jumped to 7.5 mph (8:00 min/mile) and bumped up 0.1 mph every half mile thereafter, finishing at 8.0 mph (7:30 pace) before 0.5 mile cool down. Felt pretty good, nice to get another run in, even if it was just an easy recovery run. Conversation about the race went well, looks like we are going to be a go for it. More details will be forthcoming...

2010 Efforts!

This year, like last year, I will be riding for Mary Payton's Miracle - My friend Steve Kogos from Trigators informed me that his friend Joe's daughter, Mary Payton, was diagnosed a number of years back with Late Infantile Batten Disease. This is a disease with no cure, however, there are special experimental (and extremely expensive) treatments which have shown some significant signs of success! In order to assist with the costly treatments and research, Mary Payton's Miracle was created to raise money to find a cure, hopefully in time to save little Mary Payton as well as the many others affected by this terrible disease!
