Dodging snow at Bolling.

Went for a run just after lunch today and decided on going at Bolling so I could get a full 5 miles or so in without having to resort to doing loops (like at NRL). Unlike everywhere in the city, Bolling actually has done a half way decent job of plowing streets and sidewalks, but the path along the water was still under 3 feet of snow. So I modified my typical route, cutting down to 5 miles around the base. Took it easy, keeping the pace to an average of 8:12 min/mile. Felt ok, pace dropped a bit because of avoiding snow and ice on the sidewalk, but overall it was great to be back outside for a run!

2010 Efforts!

This year, like last year, I will be riding for Mary Payton's Miracle - My friend Steve Kogos from Trigators informed me that his friend Joe's daughter, Mary Payton, was diagnosed a number of years back with Late Infantile Batten Disease. This is a disease with no cure, however, there are special experimental (and extremely expensive) treatments which have shown some significant signs of success! In order to assist with the costly treatments and research, Mary Payton's Miracle was created to raise money to find a cure, hopefully in time to save little Mary Payton as well as the many others affected by this terrible disease!
