More snow... ugh... treadmill here I come.

Needed to get a run in and despite my best efforts, Mother Nature was just making sure I couldn't delay until the weather cleared. More snow today (another cancelled day of work) led me to get a 5 mile run in on the treadmill. I started off with an easy 0.5 mile warmup at 8:34 min/mile pace, before moving into 4 miles at 8 min/mile. I then finished with another 0.5 mile at 8:34 min/mile again. All of it was done at a 2.0% grade. Did have some trouble with the belt slipping initially, so I learned how to fix that. To entertain myself, I watch footage from WWII island hopping invasions by the US. Really interesting to see the real soldiers in action and the heroic actions they took...

2010 Efforts!

This year, like last year, I will be riding for Mary Payton's Miracle - My friend Steve Kogos from Trigators informed me that his friend Joe's daughter, Mary Payton, was diagnosed a number of years back with Late Infantile Batten Disease. This is a disease with no cure, however, there are special experimental (and extremely expensive) treatments which have shown some significant signs of success! In order to assist with the costly treatments and research, Mary Payton's Miracle was created to raise money to find a cure, hopefully in time to save little Mary Payton as well as the many others affected by this terrible disease!
