Spinervals Zoot Suit Challenge
This weather is getting old. It was supposed to snow again last night, and while we were spared of that, we were hammered with cold weather and high winds, which all but assured that I would be indoors for training once again. HOW do those who live in the north train in the winter? Is there some secret super enjoyable treadmill/bike trainer game available that they greedily keep to themselves? UGH... Well, it was a good workout, with efforts in both high cadence and high gears, along with some sit down/stand up efforts and some build sprints. Really felt pretty good. Nice way to wake up... ok that last part was bullshit.
This year, like last year, I will be riding for Mary Payton's Miracle - My friend Steve Kogos from Trigators informed me that his friend Joe's daughter, Mary Payton, was diagnosed a number of years back with Late Infantile Batten Disease. This is a disease with no cure, however, there are special experimental (and extremely expensive) treatments which have shown some significant signs of success! In order to assist with the costly treatments and research, Mary Payton's Miracle was created to raise money to find a cure, hopefully in time to save little Mary Payton as well as the many others affected by this terrible disease!
